Grandis Collection

Grandis are a species of ground squirrels found in North America, and are small, with a body length of around 8-10 inches and a tail length of 4-6 inches. They have grayish brown fur on their upper body and white fur on their underside. They have large eyes and ears, short legs, and long claws for digging burrows. Grandis live in colonies near open areas such as grasslands or meadows where they can find food such as seeds, nuts, fruits, insects, eggs, and small mammals. During the winter months they hibernate in underground burrows that they dig themselves and can active during the day but will also come out at night if there is enough food available to them and can be seen running around looking for food or playing with each other during the summer months when temperatures are warmer.
