George Wharton Edwards Collection

George Wharton Edwards (1859-1950) was an American artist and illustrator. He is best known for his illustrations of the American West, which he depicted in a romanticized style. He was born in New York City and studied at the National Academy of Design. He traveled extensively throughout the United States, painting scenes from nature and Native Americans.
