Achille Etna Michallon Collection

Achille Etna Michallon was a French painter and sculptor from the 19th century. He was born in Paris in 1833 and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts. He specialized in historical paintings, religious scenes, and portraits. His works were exhibited at the Salon de Paris from 1853 to 1872, where he received numerous awards for his work. He also created several sculptures for churches throughout France. In addition to his artistic career, Michallon served as an officer in the French Army during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870–71. After his death in 1897, many of his works were donated to museums throughout France as well as abroad. Today, Michallon is remembered for his impressive body of work that continues to inspire generations of artists around the world.
