EDITORS COMMENTS
Great photo capturing a pivotal moment in the 2008-09 Barclays Premier League match between Everton and Aston Villa at Goodison Park. In the image, Marouane Fellaini of Everton receives a yellow card from referee Martin Atkinson. The Belgian midfielder, who had only joined Everton the previous summer from Standard Liège, was booked for a foul on Aston Villa's Ashley Young during the first half of the game. Fellaini's yellow card was one of several cautions issued during the fiery encounter, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Despite the disciplinary setback, Fellaini went on to become a key player for Everton, making 31 appearances and scoring five goals in all competitions during his debut season with the Toffees. This photo is a reminder of an exciting chapter in Everton's history and the development of Fellaini's career in the English top flight.
