The Late Lord Russell of Killowen, 1900. Charles Russell QC MP, British lawyer and politician. Born in Newry, County Down, Russell (1832-1900) became a QC in 1872. Entering politics, he served as Liberal MP for Dundalk (1880-1885) then Hackney South (1885-1894). He was appointed Attorney General in 1886 and held the post again from 1892-1894, and served as Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales from 1894-1900. From Black & White Budget, Vol. III.
