Le Mont Cervin, or Matterhorn, is one of the most distinctive and iconic mountains in the world, located in the Swiss Alps between the town of Zermatt and the Gornergrat mountain. This breathtaking photograph, taken from Riffelalp, a picturesque hamlet in the municipality of Zermatt in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, captures the majesty and grandeur of this natural wonder in all its glory. Riffelalp, situated at an elevation of 2,222 metres above sea level, is approximately halfway between Zermatt and the summit of the Matterhorn.
