de Havilland Dove 2B AP-AGJ (msn 04084), of Pakistan Petroleum Ltd. at Karachi Airport, in storage, prior to sale in the UK, with Dove G-AJBI and Heron G-AOGO of Morton Air Services. First registered as G-AKJR and exported to Pakistan on 4 April 1953, registered as AP-AGJ for the Burmah Oil Company, then to Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). Aircraft returned to United Kingdom (UK) as G-AKJR, with Morton Air Services on 1 June 1965. AP-AGJ. Permanently withdrawn from use on 21 August 1968. Scrapped and broken up at London Southend Airport, UK, between August 1968 and 1970. Date: circa 1963

In this evocative photograph, three vintage aircraft are seen lined up at Karachi Airport in Pakistan, with the de Havilland Dove AP-AGJ (msn 04084) taking center stage. The Dove, a versatile aircraft produced by the de Havilland Aircraft Company, was originally registered as G-AKJR in the United Kingdom and exported to Pakistan on April 4, 1953, for the Burmah Oil Company. Later, it was transferred to Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). The image captures the AP-AGJ in storage prior to its sale back to the UK, where it was once again registered as G-AKJR and joined the fleet of Morton Air Services. The Dove, a 2B model with a seating capacity of 18 passengers, is seen here accompanied by two other Morton Air Services aircraft, the Dove G-AJBI and the Heron G-AOGO. The photograph is believed to have been taken around 1963, and the AP-AGJ, which had been in service for over a decade, was permanently withdrawn from use on August 21, 1968. The aircraft was eventually scrapped and broken up at London Southend Airport between August 1968 and 1970. This photograph offers a glimpse into the history of aviation, showcasing the de Havilland Dove's travels between the UK and Pakistan, and its final days in service before being retired.
