Delivered to the Fleet Air Arm on 28 June 1954, this Sea Vampire served valiantly in the British naval aviation fleet. The Sea Vampire was a significant advancement in naval aviation technology, featuring a tailhook for arrested landings on aircraft carriers and the ability to operate from short runways. The Sea Vampire T.22 XA160 is depicted here in its prime, with its sleek lines and distinctive inverted gull wing design. The Sea Vampire was powered by a de Havilland Ghost 103 engine, which delivered impressive performance for the time. This particular aircraft was eventually retired from service and sold for scrap on 4 November 1965 at RNAS Brawdy.
