The relief is dated back to the Ptolemaic Dynasty, specifically the reign of Ptolemy II or III, between 285 and 221 BC. This intricately carved granite piece was discovered in the Temple of Isis at Behbeit el-Hagar, Egypt. The king, likely a Pharaoh, is shown in profile, wearing the royal nemes headdress and a false beard, symbolizing his earthly power and divine authority. His muscular arms are crossed in front of his chest, a gesture of strength and protection.
