With the clouds of war finally breaking, the dawn of peace emerged, bringing hope and relief after years of conflict. Standing prominently in the foreground, Washington and Lafayette, two pivotal figures in the American Revolution, witness the formal surrender ceremony. Cornwallis, in his red military coat, is seen bowing before the victorious generals, symbolizing the end of British military presence in the colonies.
