The intricately detailed image is based on a drawing by the skilled naturalist artist Edouard Travies, as featured in the Richards New Edition of the Complete Works of Comte de Buffon published by Pourrat Freres in Paris in 1837. The Treecreeper, with its distinctive zebra-like stripes and curved beak, is shown perched on the trunk of a tree, its body coiled in a spiral position as it clings to the bark.
