These green-fingered Newsome Cubs, pictured with Venture Scout Daniel Pedder, did a spot of gardening at a local old peoples home ready for a fund-raising open day at the weekend. There were plenty of willing volunteers when care assistant Mrs Sylvia Hallas asked for help to clean up the grounds at Castle Grange, Newsome, for Saturdays open day. The event will feature a variety of outdoor attractions and music from Newsome Scout Band. 1st October 1986
