Rothenburger won the gold medal in a new World Record, she also won a silver medal in the 500m.
Blair would win five gold medals in speed skating across three Olympics.
Later that year Rothenburger won a silver medal in sprint cycling at the Seoul Olympics, becoming the first woman to win medals in both the Winter and Summer Olympics.
