Mountain Paca Cushion Collection

Mountain Paca is a small, nocturnal mammal native to the Andes Mountains in South America and has a stocky body with short legs and a long tail. Its fur is thick and ranges from light brown to black in color. Its diet consists of fruits, seeds, insects, and small vertebrates such as frogs and lizards, and are solitary animals that live in burrows or rock crevices during the day and come out at night to forage for food and are excellent swimmers, able to dive underwater for up to two minutes at a time while searching for food, and are threatened by habitat loss due to deforestation and agricultural activities as well as hunting by humans. Conservation efforts have been put into place in order to protect this species from extinction.
