As it turns out, Felix's beloved Scott motorcycle was not fitted with a primary chaincase as per the standard regulations set by the Clubman rule. Scott, recognizing Felix's potential and determination to compete in the prestigious event, offered to modify his bike by fitting a chaincase. Unfortunately for both parties involved, this act would have violated the very rule that governed their participation – no modification from standard allowed.
