EDITORS COMMENTS
Nestled in the quaint seaside town of Portslade, Sussex, stands the Windmill Inn, a beloved local pub that once welcomed visitors with its distinctive windmill tower and inviting facade. The Windmill Inn, located at 41-42 South Street (BN41 1AW), was a cherished establishment in the community, known for its warm atmosphere and commitment to serving up delicious food and refreshing beverages. The pub, which was not affiliated with any particular brewery or company, was a staple in the area and a favorite gathering spot for locals and tourists alike. The Windmill Inn's rich history can be traced back to the early 19th century, when it was originally built as a coaching inn. Over the years, it underwent various transformations, but always remained a vital part of the community. Unfortunately, as of July 2018, the Windmill Inn was no more. Demolished, it now exists only in the memories of those who frequented it and in this photograph, a poignant reminder of a cherished piece of Portslade's past.
