EDITORS COMMENTS
Step into the enchanting world of Parisian fashion in 1924, as depicted in this illustration by Peroud for Eve - The Ladys Pictorial. The illustration showcases a selection of elegant outfits that were sketched in the salons of famous couturiers such as Poiret, Lucien Lelong, Madeleine and Madeleine, Charlotte, and Martial et Armand. On the left, a three-quarter coat made of light material is paired with an afternoon frock of black taffeta, complete with a hat to match. In the middle, a mauve crepe marocain jumper frock with touches of black and loose transparent sleeves of ninon adds a touch of sophistication. A grey taffeta dress embroidered with rosebuds exudes old-world charm, while a brown glace frock with flounces brings a playful and feminine touch. A tailor-made suit of blue rep adds a touch of modernity, and a straight-up-and-down gown of black wool marocain completes the collection. This illustration offers a glimpse into the fashion trends of the 1920s, a decade marked by its unique blend of elegance, innovation, and glamour. The springtime fashions of Paris were a source of inspiration for women around the world, and this illustration captures the essence of that inspiration, transporting us back in time to a world of style and sophistication.
