Uranium mining. Miner extracting uranium ore from an underground mine. This is the Gluboky uranium mine, in the Chita region of Russia. The Chita region is in south-eastern Siberia, bordering Mongolia and China. In 2006, 2800 tons of uranium ore were extracted from this mine.
