Concorde Collection

Concorde was a supersonic passenger airliner that flew from 1976 to 2003. It was jointly developed by the British and French governments, and operated by Air France and British Airways. It could fly at twice the speed of sound, reaching Mach 2.04, or 1,354 mph (2,180 km/h). The aircraft had a maximum capacity of 128 passengers in a two-class configuration. Its distinctive delta wing design enabled it to fly at high altitudes and cruise over transatlantic routes in under three hours. Despite its impressive performance, Concorde's high operating costs meant that only wealthy passengers could afford to fly on it regularly. Following several fatal accidents during its service life, Concorde was retired in 2003 after 27 years of operation from London Heathrow Airport in England and Charles de Gaulle Airport near Paris in France.
