The image transports us back to the enchanting streets of Venice during this era, where these mysterious and elegant masks were an integral part of Venetian culture. The individuals in the photograph are seen riding in a gondola, their identities concealed behind the iconic bauta masks. These masks were traditionally worn during public events and celebrations, allowing wearers to enjoy anonymity and freedom from social constraints.
