Double Trouble in the Tasmanian Rainforest - A Mother-Daughter Duo Strikes a Pose!

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this adorable photo print, we are treated to a rare glimpse of the elusive Tasmanian Pademelon - a resident macropod of Australia's eastern forests. Standing side by side on their hind legs, this female adult and her weaned young confidently look directly into the camera, as if they know they're stealing our hearts! With their low slung and compact bodies, these pademelons are perfectly adapted for navigating through thick undergrowth. They seek shelter and forage in the lush temperate rainforest of Mount Field National Park, Tasmania. These forest-dwelling cuties prefer to do most of their eating from late afternoon to early morning. Using an intricate network of runaways, these marsupials travel several kilometers each night to reach their feeding grounds. The bond between mother and young is evident as she nurtures her single offspring until it matures at around 14 months old. Once widespread across mainland Australia, the Tasmanian Pademelon now finds refuge only in Tasmania and larger islands of Bass Strait due to fur trade exploitation and being hunted as food by both aborigines and Europeans. So let this photo remind us not only of the incredible diversity found within our wildlife but also serve as a gentle reminder that prints like these are meant solely for personal display purposes – no commercial use allowed!
