Voices of hate, Magyar voices answered. Soon there were gasps. But someone was still looking, calling, Brothers! Brothers! Suddenly, in the sound of battle, a cry answered, a cry that was of superhuman joy. From a hole an Austrian soldier jumped up, rushed towards a Czech soldier. To that cry another answered and died in a silent embrace. Two brothers not only from their homeland but by blood, two born by the same mother had found themselves in the midst of the battle.
