Frozen in time on November 24,1973, this US Navy aircraft was forced to make an emergency crash landing on the desolate SAolheimasandur beach. Miraculously, all crew members survived the impact, but instead of recovering and restoring the plane, it was left abandoned in its final resting place. Nowadays, only remnants remain as testament to this fateful event. The hauntingly beautiful fuselage stands alone amidst whispers that a local farmer clandestinely sold off its tail for reasons unknown.
