This photograph captures the enigmatic English journalist and writer, Sir Alan Patrick Herbert, better known by his pen name Albert Haddock, in the prime of his career. Taken in 1936, the image finds Herbert in a thoughtful pose, his brow furrowed as he holds a cigarette between his fingers.
