Hailing from the Chola Dynasty of southern India, this sculpture dates back to approximately 1100 AD. Currently, it is proudly displayed at the British Museum in London, England, United Kingdom. Nataraja is depicted with four arms, each holding symbolic objects. In his primary right hand, he holds a drum called the Mridangam, while his left hand is in the "Anjali Mudra," a gesture of greeting or respect. His upper right hand is in the "Varada Mudra," a gesture of granting boons, and his lower right hand is in the "Abhaya Mudra," a gesture of fearlessness and protection.
