The Great Pelican, also known as the Eastern White Pelican, is the largest living pelican species, with a wingspan that can reach up to 3.5 meters (11.5 feet). However, their populations were decimated due to overexploitation, and they remain listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List.
