In this evocative 1937 illustration from the archives, two errand boys on bicycles, laden with parcels and groceries, find themselves in a precarious situation as they swerve to avoid a dog darting out into the road. The silhouetted scene, set against the backdrop of a quiet, tree-lined street, transports us back to the 1930s, a time when bicycles were a common mode of transport for delivering goods and running errands. The older boy, wearing a cap and holding onto a large basket, expertly maneuvers his bicycle to the left, narrowly missing the dog. However, his quick maneuver causes him to lose balance, and both he and his younger companion, who clings onto the handlebars of the other boy's bike, come crashing down to the ground.
