Born in the region of Swabia, Fernberger rose to prominence under the auspices of the powerful House of Württemberg. This evocative portrait, captured in an engraving from the Mary Evans Prints Online archive, offers a glimpse into the life and legacy of this formidable figure. Fernberger's military career began in the service of the Duke of Württemberg, Ulrich II. He distinguished himself in various battles against the Danes, Swedes, and the Swiss Confederates.
