In this evocative photo-montage, published by Beagles, King Edward VII, the late monarch of the United Kingdom (1841-1910), is depicted with his extended family in the elegant drawing room of Buckingham Palace. The assemblage of royals, gathered around the grand piano, showcases the rich tapestry of the British and European royal dynasty on the cusp of a new era. From left to right, we see Prince Albert, Duke of Clarence and Avondale, the eldest son of the late King and his first wife, Princess Alexandra of Denmark. Next to him is his younger brother, Prince George, Duke of York, who would later become King George V. Seated on the piano bench, we find Princess Victoria, the late King's eldest daughter, and her husband, Prince Louis of Battenberg, Duke of Cornwall and Rothesay. In the foreground, we see the King of Norway, Haakon VII, and his wife, Maud of Wales, Princess Mary, and their pet dog.
