This stunning artwork, painted by Pieter Cornelius de Bevere, showcases the birds in their vibrant plumage and intricate details. The White-headed Munia, also known as the White-headed Lark-finch, is a small, orange-and-brown passerine bird native to South Asia. The male is distinguished by its striking white head, while the female sports a brown head and orange cheeks. The bird is perched on a blue background, its long, curved bill pointed downwards, possibly in search of food. The Red Avadavat, or Red Munia, is another small, long-tailed passerine bird found in South and Southeast Asia.
