EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases the Cessna 320A Skyknight with the registration number AP-AOJ (msn 320A-0046), a historic aviation icon. The aircraft was first registered in the United States of America (USA) as N3046R. Its journey took an intriguing turn when it was transferred to the Government of West Pakistan in June 1971. Over the years, it served the Rawalpindi Flying Club (RFC) in Pakistan. The photograph, believed to be taken circa 1965, captures the sleek and elegant design of the Cessna 320A Skyknight. However, the aircraft's history took a turn for the worse when it was damaged due to a thunderstorm at Rawalpindi/Islamabad International Airport on 23 September 2003. The registration AP-AOJ was later removed from the Pakistan Aircraft Register on an unknown date. By October 2007, the once proud aircraft was seen as derelict at Islamabad International Airport. This poignant image serves as a reminder of the Cessna 320A Skyknight's rich history and the unpredictable nature of aviation. The aircraft, with its serial number 320A-0046, is a significant part of both American and Pakistani aviation history.
