This stunning chromolithograph depicts the vibrant and exotic Flaming Sword, or Vriesea splendens, a plant that was a favorite among Victorian gardeners and horticulturists. The illustration, created by B. Herincq and published in Edward Step's "Favourite Flowers of Garden and Greenhouse" in 1896, showcases the plant in all its glory.
