In this evocative photograph from the early 1900s, a mounted police constable and a group of Aboriginal trackers prepare to embark on a patrol through the rugged Australian outback. The scene is set against a backdrop of vast, arid landscape, with the sun casting long shadows over the rocky terrain. The mounted constable, a symbol of European authority and law enforcement, sits tall in the saddle, his steely gaze fixed on the horizon.
