EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases the Grumman G.159 Gulfstream I with the registration number N2998 (msn 16), which was owned by General Foods Corporation and captured at London Heathrow Airport in August 1964. The first flight of this particular aircraft took place on September 30, 1959, under the registration N716G, and was manufactured by Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation. Over the years, this Gulfstream I underwent several ownership changes. In July 1972, it became part of Ward International Aircraft Inc., with the registration number N8001J. Northrop Corporation acquired it in December 1972, followed by Hubbard Broadcasting Inc. in February 1978, who registered it as N20H. In February 1984, the aircraft was assigned to Hubbard Broadcasting again, this time with the registration N202HA. The final registration, N615C, was given to it in October 1984. Unfortunately, the plane was eventually scrapped. This photograph is a fascinating glimpse into the history of this iconic aircraft and its various owners.
