Pitt, also known as 'Old Pitt,' served as the Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1766 to 1768 and again from 1766 to 1774. He is best known for his leadership during the Seven Years' War, which expanded the British Empire and secured its position as a major world power. Born into a prominent political family, Pitt entered Parliament at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks. He was known for his eloquence in the House of Commons and his ability to rally public support for his causes. Pitt's political career was marked by his strong opposition to the French, whom he saw as a threat to British interests. He was a vocal advocate for the Seven Years' War, which pitted Britain against France and its allies. Despite his many successes, Pitt's tenure as Prime Minister was not without controversy. He faced opposition from within his own party and from the public, who criticized his policies and his personal life.
