Re-purposed under the stewardship of its chatelaine, the Honorable Mrs E.F. Lawson, the historic property was converted into a facility for the manufacture of essential hospital supplies. The working parties at Hall Barn labored tirelessly to produce an impressive total of 87,000 garments and surgical dressings for hospitals, providing crucial support to the war effort on the home front.
