This fine print by Utagawa Kuniyoshi 1797-1862 was one of the last great masters of the Japanese ukiyo-e style of woodblock prints he is associated with the Utagawa school. This print ( 1858) shows an actor in a forest at night holding candles in a holder to light the scroll he is holding in the other hand.
