Alfred Hind Robinson's love of photography led him to become one of the early pioneers of the panoramic camera, using the 'autotype system' (a form of carbon printing). His individualistic style, aided buy a clockwork Kodak panoramic camera, was recognised by the British Railways companies who bought many of his images for display purposes in their First Class carriages.
Although never a professional photographer, travelling all over the North of England and Scotland he took over 2000 panoramic photographs between 1903 and 1930.
