The artwork, measuring 62.5x46.8x33.4 cm, is housed at the Cleveland Museum of Art in Ohio, USA. Algardi created this masterpiece with the intention of gaining patronage from Pope Innocent X during his reign from 1644 to 1655. To achieve this, he presented an original silver sculpture to the new pope as a symbol of support. This bronze casting was produced using molds from that very same silver piece.
