The engraving, created by an English School artist in the 18th century, captures the intensity and drama of the battle that unfolded on that fateful day. The image showcases troops landing on the shores of Quebec amidst towering cliffs and treacherous terrain known as the Heights of Abraham. With determination etched on their faces, soldiers can be seen bravely climbing these formidable heights under the command of General Wolfe. This iconic British victory marked a turning point in the conflict between England and France for control over Canada. As our eyes wander across this vast landscape, we are reminded of the strategic importance of St. Lawrence River flowing nearby.
