Shown are larvae with tufted head appendages (1, 2), a parasitic larva (3), presumably a flea larva (4), a dipteran larva (5), a mayfly larva with gill appendages (6), a caterpillar (8), and various other larval forms with their specific features such as bristles, segmentation, and pseudopodia. The larvae represent different developmental stages and ecological adaptations of insects from various orders including Lepidoptera, Diptera, and Coleoptera.
