EDITORS COMMENTS
In this black and white portrait, we are transported back in time to the early 20th century. The print showcases an Edwardian gentleman named Mr Simpson, who proudly dons his spectacles on the 1st of May, 1902. Captured by Hulton Archive/Getty Images, this image offers a glimpse into the fashion and eyewear trends of that era. Mr Simpson's distinguished appearance is accentuated by his well-groomed facial hair and neatly combed hair. His eyes, framed behind those stylish spectacles, exude a sense of intelligence and sophistication. It is fascinating to observe how eyewear played a significant role not only as a functional accessory but also as a statement piece during this period. The monochromatic format adds an air of nostalgia to the photograph while allowing us to focus on the intricate details of Mr Simpson's face and eyeglasses. This particular print from Fine Art Storehouse beautifully captures the essence of Edwardian fashion with its timeless elegance. As we gaze at this remarkable portrait, we cannot help but marvel at how something as simple as eyewear can tell us so much about history and individual style choices. It serves as a reminder that even in our modern world, where technology has transformed glasses into high-tech gadgets, there will always be room for classic designs that stand the test of time.
