Marie and her man Pierre Curie in the laboratory. Around 1904 Marie Curie was a chemist and physicist of Polish descent. She coined the term radioactive to describe radiation. Together with her man and Henri Becquerel, she received the Nobel Prize in Physics on a pro rata basis. In 1911, she and her man received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of the chemical elements polonium and radium.
