Outer dimensions are 13.5x11.5 inches (34x29cm). Quality timber frame frame moulding (20mm wide and 30mm deep) with frame colours in your choice of black, white, or raw oak and a choice of black or white card mounts. Frames have a perspex front providing a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish which is easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

This chromolithograph depicts Horatio Herbert Kitchener, later to be known as Lord Kitchener of Khartoum, in a half-length portrait as the Sirdar of the Egyptian Army. The photograph was taken by Bassano in 1899 and published by the same company in London that year. Kitchener is shown wearing a frock coat adorned with decorations, symbolizing his esteemed military rank and accomplishments. The image is significantly associated with Kitchener's pivotal role in the Egyptian Army during the late 19th century. He gained notoriety for his involvement in the relief of General Gordon during the Siege of Khartoum in the First Sudan War (1884-1885). This event marked a turning point in Kitchener's military career, earning him the moniker "The Avenger of Khartoum." Later, in the Second Sudan War (1896-1899), Kitchener led the British forces to victory against the Mahdist State, securing the Sudan for the British Empire.
