The image captures the harsh conditions faced by these pioneering women as they navigate through dimly lit tunnels, their faces smudged with coal dust and their clothing worn and tattered. Despite the grueling nature of their work, there is a sense of resilience and determination etched on their faces as they carry out their duties in this unforgiving environment. This historical snapshot serves as a powerful reminder of the often-overlooked contributions made by women throughout history, particularly in industries traditionally reserved for men.
