The BAC One-Eleven, a British-designed and manufactured twin-engine jet airliner, first entered service in 1968. This particular aircraft, registered as N1129J and with the manufacturer's serial number 182, was operated by Mohawk Airlines between approximately 1969 and 1972. In April 1972, Mohawk Airlines merged with Allegheny Airlines, and N1129J was re-registered as N1192J. The aircraft continued to serve with Allegheny until 1979, when it was sold to AGL, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri. The plane was later bought by the McDonnell Douglas Corporation and repurposed for other uses. The BAC One-Eleven 204AF N1129J was a significant part of Mohawk Airlines' fleet during its time, and this photograph serves as a nostalgic reminder of the jet's history and the role it played in the aviation industry.
