His father was a pastor and his strictly conservative up-bringing had a lifelong effect on Spriggs values (until the end of his life, one of Spriggs proudest claims was that his ancestor had been one of Oliver Cromwells chaplains).In 1869, he became the member of the Cape Parliament for East London. Framed and mounted 9x7 print. Professionally handmade full timber moulded frames are finished off with framers tape and come with a hanging solution on the back. In 1869, Sprigg made the journey to South Africa and became a member of the Cape Parliament for East London.
