Framed and mounted 9x7 print. Professionally handmade full timber moulded frames are finished off with framers tape and come with a hanging solution on the back. Outer dimensions are 13.5x11.5 inches (34x29cm). Quality timber frame frame moulding (20mm wide and 30mm deep) with frame colours in your choice of black, white, or raw oak and a choice of black or white card mounts. Frames have a perspex front providing a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish which is easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

Sir Joseph Bazalgette (1819-1891): Pioneering English Civil Engineer and Sanitation Reformer This photograph captures Sir Joseph Bazalgette, a renowned English engineer, inventor, and social reformer, in the later years of his illustrious career. Born on October 27, 1819, Bazalgette is best known for his groundbreaking work on London's sewage and water supply systems. In the late 1850s, Bazalgette was appointed as the Chief Engineer for the Metropolitan Board of Works, where he embarked on an ambitious project to address London's dire sanitation issues. His vision led to the construction of an extensive network of sewers, which revolutionized public health in the city and significantly reduced the spread of cholera and other diseases. Bazalgette's engineering prowess extended beyond sanitation. He was also an accomplished inventor, holding numerous patents for various devices, including a hydraulic crane and a steam-powered dredger. His inventions contributed significantly to the development of the industrial sector and the construction industry. Sir Joseph Bazalgette was knighted in 1874 for his services to the public. He continued to work on various engineering projects until his retirement in 1883. In his later years, he was also an active member of the Royal Society and the Institution of Civil Engineers.
