Framed Print of Ninety Warwick children had their first lessons in open-plan classrooms yesterday when

Ninety Warwick children had their first lessons in open-plan classrooms yesterday when they returned to school in a new building. They are in the junior section at St. Marys R.C. Primary School in Warwick, but have moved into the part of the new school in Priory Pools which will eventually be used for the infants. Meanwhile, yesterday the 60 infants were being taught as usual in the old school in West Street, built in 1905 and nicknamed The Black Hole of Calcutta. The new school is due to be completed by Christmas at a cost of 25, 000 and will include a gym, music rooms, and playing fields. The schools parent-teacher association recently started a fund to build a 3, 000 swimming pool at the new school.
Our photograph is of Mr. Don Thurlow, teacher in charge of junior two class, talking to the boys and girls during their first day in the recently completed premises.
