EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the golden era of cinema, precisely on the 15th of July in 1987. The image showcases the grandeur and innovation of a new cinema called "The Point". Gone are the days of cramped seating arrangements and strained necks; this theater boasts a revolutionary design that ensures maximum comfort for its patrons. As we delve into this snapshot from yesteryear, our eyes are immediately drawn to the absence of steps leading up to each row. This ingenious architectural choice eliminates any obstacles or inconvenience when finding one's seat. Instead, we witness an expanse of plush seats stretching out before us, promising hours of cinematic delight without discomfort. Moreover, what truly sets "The Point" apart is its thoughtful attention to detail. Each seat seems to offer ample legroom, allowing moviegoers to stretch out and fully immerse themselves in their chosen film experience. Additionally, strategically placed drink holders can be seen throughout the theater - a small but significant touch that adds convenience and luxury. Transported back in time by this remarkable photograph print from Memory Lane Prints' NCJ Archive collection, we cannot help but marvel at how far entertainment venues have come since then. It serves as a reminder that even decades ago, architects were already envisioning spaces designed with both aesthetics and audience satisfaction in mind.
